Notes

UCAS APPLICATION. To apply to Cambridge you should submit a UCAS application naming Cambridge as one of your choices. The UCAS application should be submitted to UCAS between 1 September and 15 October. Some applicants may be required to submit an additional application form therefore please read the following guidance notes carefully.
You should indicate your application to Cambridge in the 'choices' section of the UCAS application. If you name Cambridge, you may not also name Oxford (unless applying as a graduate for an undergraduate course). Under 'campus code', you must add the code for the Cambridge College you wish to apply to or if you are submitting an Open application (ie not naming a College), you should insert 9 under 'campus code'.
ADDITIONAL APPLICATION FORMS. There is an additional application form to be used by students applying for the Cambridge Graduate Course in Medicine which is available from the University website and the three participating Colleges.
If you are applying from outside Europe, you must submit a Cambridge Overseas Application Form (COAF) as well as a UCAS application. The COAF should be returned to the Admissions Office of your preference College by 15 October. In the case of an Open application only, it should be returned to the Cambridge Admissions Office. Applicants wishing to be considered for an interview in one of the countries where overseas interviews are held (see University website) must ensure that their COAF and UCAS application are both received by 20 September. You can obtain a COAF from any Cambridge College or from the Cambridge Admissions Office.
To apply for a Choral Award and/or Organ scholarship, you must submit a special Choral and Organ Award Application Form, which should be returned to the Admissions Office of your preference College by 1 September (Organ Scholarships) or 5 September (Choral Awards). You can obtain a Choral and Organ Award Application Form from any Cambridge College or from the Cambridge Admissions Office.
DEADLINES. The deadline for submission of UCAS applications for Cambridge is 15 October. Applicants wishing to be interviewed overseas (see above) must submit their UCAS application and COAF by 20 September.
Three of the mature Colleges (Hughes Hall, Lucy Cavendish and St Edmund's), however, will also consider applications submitted after this date from mature and affiliated applicants as part of a second application round, the deadline for which is 1 March 2010. The three Colleges may also consider applications after this date if places are still available. All mature applicants wishing to make an open application, as well as those who want to apply to a standard-age College or to Wolfson College, must submit their application by the 15 October deadline. Similarly, all applicants for Architecture, Medicine (including the Graduate Course in Medicine) and Veterinary Medicine must submit their application by 15 October.
COLLEGE INFORMATION. For admission to Cambridge, it is necessary to be accepted by a Cambridge College. You must include details of the College you wish to apply to by adding the appropriate College code or 9 for an Open application. Your application cannot be fully processed without this information. Please check carefully that you use the correct code for the College to which you wish to apply. Please note Lucy Cavendish, Murray Edwards, and Newnham are for women only; and Hughes Hall, Lucy Cavendish, St Edmund's, and Wolfson are for mature (over 21) undergraduates only. Applications to more than one College, or to a College and also an Open application, are NOT allowed.

Interviews

Interviews form an important part of our selection procedure. Most UK/EU applicants are invited to interview. See website for more information.
